Woodrow “Woody” Tull
Kamas- Woodrow T. Tull, 102 years old, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 4, 2016 at Elk Meadows, in Oakley, Utah.
He was the widower of Alta Richards Tull. They were married in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 23, 1943. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2005. They shared 61 years of marriage together.
Born in Thomasville, Missouri on August 28, 1914, Woody was the son of George Washington Tull and Florence Wright Tull. At a young age, his family moved west to Wyoming. No stranger to work, Woody labored in the oil fields at Teapot Dome, was a foreman on the Taylor Ranch near Kaycee, and worked on the Duschesne Tunnel which first took him to Kamas, Utah where he met Alta.
Woody began working in Civil Service for the Tooele Army Depot in 1946 as a mechanic. Eventually he rose to the Director of Supply Operations supervising several hundred employees. Upon retirement from the Depot, Woody settled into this own cattle ranching business on the ranch he and Alta bought in Kamas Valley.
Woody enjoyed his ranch, his horses, tinkering with anything mechanical, and telling stories from his past.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 12 noon in the Kamas LDS Ward Chapel, 100 West Center Street. Family and friends will gather for viewing on Saturday from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Marion Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home, Kamas.
