William Crawford

December 27, 1941 — April 5, 2021

Mountain View, WY

William Roy Crawford passed away on April 5, 2021 at the University of Utah hospital.

Roy was born December 27, 1941 in Sheridan, Wy to John and Leola Crawford.

Roy grew up in Buffalo, WY, he loved working along side his dad and worked on many ranches throughout Johnson and Sheridan County. Then his love of horses was born, both riding and training them.   He spent his teenage years working on ranches and causing ruckus like the teenage boys did in the 50’s.   After graduating from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, WY Roy went off to the University of Wyoming.  Roy left the University of Wyoming and started his career in the Oilfield services industry.   He owned and operated R.A. Testing and later went on to own W.R. Crawford Oilfield Services.

Roy traveled to Colorado for business and met the love of his life Altamarie Jenkin; they were married in Estes Park, Colorado and then settled in Wyoming to raise their family.  Roy was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

If you knew Roy and had the chance to sit and talk with him you knew he loved his family and he loved Wyoming, he would talk your ear off about his love of hunting, fishing and camping.

Roy’s love for his kids and grandkids was apparent. He loved spending time with them and hearing all about what they were doing.  He especially loved being the rodeo coach for his granddaughter Shay where he met many friends and became grandpa to 100’s more. He loved spending time at his arena watching and helping with the roping chute. It didn’t matter where he was at or what he was doing if one of them called and needed something he was there.  Roy traveled all over Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho to cheer for his grandkids at their Rodeo, basketball, volleyball, or football games.

Roy is preceded in death by his wife Altamarie, Mother Leola Crawford, Father John Crawford, four children, a grandson and his brother Doc.

Roy is survived by daughters Dianne Weekes (Pat Clingan), Tammi Barber (Don Barber), and Erica Stoker (Tom Stoker), as well as 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren as well as 1 great, great grandson.

The Memorial Service for Roy will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., at the Mountain View LDS Church, 116 W 4th St., Mountain View, WY.
