Wanda Mead
Wanda J. Mead passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Evanston Regional Hospital, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born July 31, 1938 to parents Lawrence and Eva Mead in Woodriver Township, Illinois. She was raised in Alton, Illinois and later moved to Evanston, Wyoming in 1996.
She was a loving grandmother of 2 and loved spending time with them. She supported her granddaughter in all her sporting activities. She played Xbox with her grandson and loved her great grandson who was joy to her. Wanda was a sports fan and loved Nascar and the Chicago Cubs. She was as an avid reader, and always had a book in her hand. She worked for Walmart for over ten years and enjoyed meeting and talking with others.
She is survived by her daughter Vivian Mead, formerly of Alton, Illinois, now of Evanston, Wyoming; grandchildren Gabriela Smith and Garrett Smith and great-grandchild Redick Isaiah.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence D. Mead and Eva B. Mead; two brothers Larry Mead, and Jimmy Mead; sister Terri (Mead) Timmins, all from Alton, Illinois.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place, and she will be taken in the spring back to Illinois as her final resting place next to her parents.
