Verla R. Clingingsmith of Evanston, WY passed away peacefully in Helena, Montana on Monday, October 24, 2011.
Verla was born April 15, 1925 in Evanston, WY to Darcy Wall and Ellen Etta Danks. Her brothers and sisters were: Kermit Wall, Frank Wall, Fae Mariotti, Idonna Johnson, Phyllis Wall, Carolyn Wall, and Le Etta Meeks.
Verla was married to Robert Stonebraker on July 25, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1955. They had three children: Doris, Bobbie Lou and Randy.
Verla married John A. Clingingsmith on April 5, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1990. They had one child, Julie.
Verla lived in Evanston, WY most of her life and moved to Helena in recent years to be near her daughter. She was a member of the LDS church and an active member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers for many years. She loved sewing, cooking and was an avid antique collector.
Although leading a very busy and productive life, her proudest accomplishment and the joy of her life were her four children, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren who all loved her very much.
She devoted her life to being a wife, mother and caretaker of many. Verla is survived by three children: Doris (Paul) Spencer of Salt Lake City, UT, Randy (Connie) Stonebraker of Green River, WY and Julie (Gordon) Dewey of Helena, Montana and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, her daughter Bobbie Lou Fruits and all of her siblings.
A memorial service will be held at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, WY on Nov. 7, 2011 @ 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may visit with the family an hour before the services at the funeral home.
