Venita Myrick

VeNita Pulsipher Baker Myrick, 86, of Heber City, Utah, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt & friend, passed away peacefully in her home on March 10, 2020 and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was known best by those she loved as Nita. Nita had health issues that made her life difficult for the past several years, but fought hard through her very last breath.

Nita was born on January 16, 1934 in Provo, Utah to Richard (Dick) and Voncile Pulsipher. She was raised in Provo, but lived the majority of her life in Heber City.

She married Walter LeGrand Baker of Provo, Utah, with whom she had six children, Ricky Lynn Baker, Randy Lee Johnson, Denice Baker Springer, SueAnn Valdez, Kathi Jean Clark, and William (Billy) Brad Baker. They later divorced. She later married Marvin Myrick and later divorced.

Nita loved hunting, fishing and camping. She spent a lot of time while growing up, fishing with her father and sisters on the Provo River.  Well into her early 80’s, Nita would drive upwards of 100 miles to the hunting camps and the fishing lakes to hunt and fish with the boys.  She also loved the Bus trips to Wendover with Marvin. But Nita’s real love was for her family & dearly loved spending time with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.

Nita is survived by her sister AnnaDee (Ross) Hinkley of Idaho Falls, Idaho, by her children Ricky Lynn Baker of Heber City, Utah, Randy Lee (Jamie) Johnson of Woodscross, Utah, Denice Baker Springer of St George, Utah, SueAnn Valdez of Heber City, Utah, Kathi Jean (Greg) Clark of Parachute, Colorado, William Brad Baker of Heber City, Utah, stepdaughter, Shelly Gray, 37 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard (Dick) and Voncile Pulsipher, sisters Audrey Casper and Dixie Wesphal, and grandson Braedon Baker.

A Graveside and Memorial service will be held on her behalf at the Springville Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Interment immediately thereafter.
