Ulyses Grant “Gene” Hutchings, passed away July 4, 2022 in Evanston, Wyoming surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 16, 1927 in Ada, Oklahoma, the 6th of 17 children to Claude Hutchings and Sarah McFarland. He married Wilma Titmus and with this union they had two children, Kari and Dane. They later divorced. He then married Karon Horne on August 5, 1966 in Evanston, Wyoming and to this union they had three children, Saralu, Andrea and Nicky.
Gene was a restaurant business owner and chef. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the outdoors, hunting, horses, and golf. He loved a good game of dominos, watching westerns and sports. He especially loved rodeos.
He is survived by his loving wife Karon, and children: Dane (Chris) Hutchings; Saralu (Ron) Skidmore; Andrea (Michael) Turner; Nicky (Wendell) Robinson. Brother Dale Hutchings, sisters; Ginger Ellingford, Wanda Stewart, Johnnie Sue Hutchison, Joan Harrison and Kay Anderson. He will also be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, grandson Bryan Rogers and daughter Kari Rogers.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Evanston L.D.S. Fourth Ward Chapel at 201 Sage Street. Viewing will be at the Crandall Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
Interment will follow in the Evanston Cemetery.
