With deepest sorrow, we announce that Tyler Scott Slinkard, age 26 our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 while in the hospital.
Tyler loved being around friends and family and found humor in all situations. Tyler didn’t have a mean bone in his body and was a kind soul to everyone. Tyler had a love for music which he inherited from his dad Scott Slinkard, if you didn’t know who was singing he would tell you and a little about the singer to. He loved cooking and recreating dishes that he had seen and cooking side by side with his mom, Bethany Peatross. He loved being outdoors and planting a beautiful garden that he took pride in. Tyler loved to paint he started as a young child and through the years has kept that passion. Tyler loved his younger brother he would help him and coach him on life issues. The bond between brothers was unbreakable.
So many people have made a difference in Tyler’s life his uncle Bub thought of him as a son he never had and encouraged him when he needed encouragement and Bub was a mentor that loved Tyler unconditionally.
Autumn was his favorite time of the year, football season. Tyler was a big sports fan he would watch and cheer for his favorite team the Pittsburg Steelers. As a young child he played football in middle school. Tyler had a shunt and knew the dangers of the sport but his determination and love for the game never stopped him.
We have all been on Tyler’s journey in one way or another and he showed his love and kindness to everyone he has met.
Tyler will be missed every day by his father Scott Allen Slinkard and Cheryl, his mother Bethany Peatross and step-father Richard “Brent” Peatross, his brother Zachery Ray Slinkard, his grandparents, Gary and Susan Slinkard and Walton and Deborah Godwin, his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many many great friends.
We now know that Tyler is now with his great grandfathers, Charlie Hays, Steve Slinkard, Merle Godwin, Kenneth McKowen, Robert Peatross, and grandmothers Mom Hays, Barbara Slinkard, Annie Godwin, Terrie Mortensen and Uncle Brandon Peatross, and is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.
