Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Ronald Tib Ottley will be held Monday, July 3rd, 2023 at the Roundhouse in Evanston, WY. The 11:00 am service will be preceded by a viewing from 9:30 - 11:00. A luncheon will be served in the Machine Shop following the service at 1:00.
Tib passed away at his home in Evanston, WY after a year-long struggle with cancer. His wife Diana was by his side. He was born on March 29, 1957 to Dennis and Sandy Ottley. Number three in a family of four boys, Tib attended Evanston schools prior to his marriage to his high school sweetheart Tammy Branch in 1975. They had 3 children together, Stormy, Tibby, and Kendall. Although Tib and Tammy's marriage ended, their commitment to the family they created endured and fostered a lifelong partnership of co-parenting.
Tib's career path required many hats. For 31 years, he worked in locations across the country in various capacities. He managed restaurants, and truck stops for many well-known entities including Flying J, Love's, Petro and Village Inn - always exceeding the typical nine to five expectation and developing an appreciation and respect for those he served. It was during these years that he met his wife Diana Ritchie, who he married in October 2001. This union added three "bonus kids" to his world - Briana, Brandon and Brian Van Loh. What a beautiful, blended family.
Tib returned to Evanston in 2006 to follow in his father's footsteps in both real estate and in politics. He worked as an associate broker for Uinta Realty, eventually taking the reins as broker when his dad retired. He was also elected as a city councilman, a job he loved, in the years immediately preceding his illness. His community involvement included service on the Economic Development Board, the Cowboy Days Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Board. He and his wife Diana were chosen as delegates for the Uinta County Republican Caucus and Tib was very active with the Uinta County Suicide Prevention Task Force and the Rotary Club.
Loved ones who preceded him in death and influenced his path are his father Dennis J Ottley, his son Patricio Tib Ottley, his nephew Connor J Ottley, his mother-in-law Mary Verlene Ritchie, and father-in-law Pat Branch.
Loved ones who will dearly miss Tib, until they meet again, are his wife Diana Ottley, daughter Stormy and Jeff Remington, daughter Kendall and Matthew Fessenden, daughter Briana Van Loh and Joe Severino, son Bryan and Caroline Van Loh, son Brandon Van Loh, his mother Sandy Ottley, his brother Randy and Linda Ottley, brother Dave and Kerri Ottley, brother Cody and Rhonda Ottley, and his grandchildren Jordan, Rowan, Skye, Tegan, Lyrik, Ryleigh, Brooks and Nolan. He will also be missed by MANY nieces and nephews.
