Susan Elizabeth Keyes Cann

September 13, 1957 — October 25, 2024

Francis

Susan Elizabeth Keyes Cann was born September 13, 1957 in Coalville, Utah. She was the daughter of Faye McNeil & John Don Keyes.

She married the love of her life Beale “Joey” Cann Jr. on September 4, 1976. They met while attending Utah Technical College in Provo Utah, when Joey made an impression while bouncing on, and proceeded to break off the car bumper in the snow, later returning to fix it. Their first date was to a Marty Robbins concert in Provo, and they were inseparable after. They were later sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on January 25, 1986.

After they married in 1976, they moved to Fallon, Nevada where they welcomed two children- Jennifer Danelle and Travis Lee. They were the joy of her life. They moved home to Francis in 1996.

Susan was a talented stained-glass artist and an avid quilter. Many of her family members are wrapped in quilts made with lots of love, and a little cussing. She enjoyed traveling the countryside in search of new quilt shops and classes with her daughter and sister, and was the best at auditioning her fabrics.

Family was always of great importance. She grew up in Francis surrounded by cousins she loved as siblings and talked often about the adventures they would have. When one of her kids developed an interest, Susan was all in. She learned about football with Travis and cheered him on and later her favorite team. She loved listening to his FFA speeches and could listen to hours of puns and tree facts with only a loving eyeroll. She went to 4H shows, countless band, choir recitals and plays for Jennifer, and later many concerts and trips. She taught her kids how to love, to keep your promises, and how to finish when they start a project.

She had many loves and interests. Watching birds and wildlife, looking for the best flowers, bowling, watching her Pittsburgh Steelers, traveling with her husband Joey and reading while he fished brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Susan and Joey celebrated 48 years of love, laughter, joy and trials. They were able to travel and enjoy each other, especially after retirement when they became snowbirds.

Susan passed in Medford, Oregon on October 25, 2024, with her husband Joey and children by her side.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, mother and father-in-law, and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband Joey, children Jennifer and Travis, siblings Julie Keyes of Francis UT, Johnny (Emilee) Keyes of Plain City, UT, Steven (Cindy) Keyes of Peoa, UT, siblings-in-law John (Karen) Cann of Fallon, NV, Steven (Rena) Cann of Preston ID, Lori (Jim) Lively of Fallon, NV and Kevin (Michonne) Cann of Fallon, NV as well as 27 nieces and nephews, 35 great nieces and nephews, and many foster children.
