Susan Bollschweiler

February 23, 1946 — May 10, 2015

Our dear mother, Susan Bollschweiler, returned to her Heavenly Father on Mother's Day
Sunday, May 10, 2015, after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. Susan was born on February 23, 1946 to Marvin and Margaret Bollschweiler in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family
moved to Evanston, Wyoming in the early 1950's. Her childhood was spent with her parents and
siblings owning and operating the Western Motel in Evanston. Susan 'attended Evanston High
School where she was involved in many activities. She was chosen by a special committee as
Best All-Around Girl of the senior class. Susan was a cheerleader, a member of student council
and an officer in many of the clubs in which she participated, including president of the pepsters
and serving as co-editor of the 1964 yearbook. She was also voted Homecoming Queen in
1963. She was a credit to her class during her high school years.
Susan married Jim Bowns in September 1964 and they had four daughters, Janet, Kelly, Karen
and Jamie Sue. During this time, they owned and operated Bowns Inc. and Susan's Floral &
Gift. They later divorced. Susan's love of flowers and her artistic abilities led her to Springville,
Utah where she owned another successful business, Springville Floral for twelve years. Susan
moved back to Evanston in 1999 where she worked at Aspen Elementary. This move allowed
her to spend time with her family and grandchildren and pursue other artistic passions such as
card making, gardening, scrapbooking and shopping at QVC. Susan also found great joy in
helping others and showing her support with tokens of her love. She was a selfless individual
who touched many lives.
Susan is survived by her four daughters Janet Michelle Gamble (Fred) of Riverton, Wyoming;
Kelly Bowns of Heber, Utah; Karen Bowns of Evanston, Wyoming; Jamie Sue Bowns of
Evanston, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren Michael, Nicole, Ryan, Caleb, Miles, Tobi, Luke, Taylor
and Scotty; 6 great-grandchildren Kaylee, Brooks, Kaycee, Ryker, Brody and Brooklyn. She is
also survived by her siblings Margie Robinson (Jim); Dennis Bollschweiler (Diane); Janis Nelson
(Craig); Julie Lanning (Mike) and many nieces and nephews.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Margaret Bollschweiler.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to ALL of her caregivers
for their kindness and generosity. The friendships that developed were invaluable to her and
mean so much to her girls.
