Shelly Hoopes

September 21, 1961 — October 27, 2013

Her greatest joys in life were her beautiful grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother. She devoted her life to serving her community through the Evanston Rotary Club. She spent countless hours serving behind the scenes and at events giving of her time selflessly for the community she cherished. Her efforts did not go unnoticed; she was recently honored by the Uinta County Peace Officers as Citizen of the Year.
She had a love for camping, her dog Buddy, cooking, country music, and entertaining friends. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Wyoming Cowboys. She spent much of her spare time in her yard gardening, always preparing it for friends and family gatherings. If she was not in her yard, she was taking pictures or recycling.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Verlan Hoopes, of Evanston, Wy. She is also survived by her son, Waylon Lindley, of Evanston, Wy. and his two wonderful children Jesse James and Madalyn Elizabeth. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Austin and Kristine Hoopes of Charlotte, NC., along with Rhiannon and Jonny Gibson of San Antonio, Tx. and their children Mckenna, Luke, Mia and Emery. She is also survived by her siblings: her brother, Steven Nicholson, and his two children, Deavon and Damian and loving sister, Shawna Mustain, and her two children Scott and Deze. She is also survived by her Aunt Linda and Uncle Larry Hicks, who she was very close to, and many other extended family members, including Verlan’s sisters.
In lieu of flowers, Shelly would be honored by any donation made to The Rotary Club of Evanston.
