Our beloved sweet Shelbi Yvonne Neuenschwander passed away in her sleep Friday, October 4, 2013. Shelbi was so full of life and joy. Shelbi graduated from Lyman High School. She was the first student in Lyman to receive Honors in Art as a freshman. She attended and graduated with Honors and second in her class from ITT Technical College in Criminal Justice.
She loved everyone she came in contact with. She was a friend to the underdog. Shelbi loved visiting, hugging, and caring for the senior ladies which she befriended and encountered at her mother’s beauty shop. Shelbi loved her family deeply. Her grandmother was her very best friend and favorite pal. Her mother was her obsession and could not go a day without talking to her multiple times. Shelbi loved her Aunt and Uncles. Her Uncle Harold was her surrogate father and she loved him with all her heart. Her Uncle Joe was her teddy bear and she loved to give him a bad time. She was so excited to come and live with her “Auntie,” and was with her and making plans for doing many things together when our Heavenly Father called her home. Shelbi struggled with a lot of pain in her life. She loved deeply, but she also hurt deeply. She was so strong and determined that she was not going to let life get her down. She just kept beating her way back to the top and was going to and did succeed at everything she did. Shelbi was the joy of our lives and she will be missed deeply and every day for the rest of our lives.
Shelbi was preceded in death by her dear grandfather Larry Neuenschwander, great grandparents whom she loved so much, and her beloved dog, Zipper. Survived by her mother, LaVonne Neuenschwander; her grandmother, Yvonne Neuenschwander; her aunt, Cynthia Prado; uncles, Joe Neuenschwander and Harold Neuenschwander (Carla); uncle Robert Prado and aunt Barb Neuenschwander; cousins, Brianna Preece (Bryan), Larry Bryce Prado (Elise); Jordan Neuenschwander (her little brother), Chase Neuenschwander, Dawson Neuenschwander, Kian Neuenschwander, Corene Hamilton, Kylar Hamilton, Cailee Hamilton, Charli Hamilton and numerous great aunts, uncles, and friends who loved her and whose life was brightened with her presence.
