Sheila Stoddard Buttars Albrecht passed away May 31, 2017 at the University of Utah. She was born October 13, 1944 in Richmond, Utah to parents Guy Layne and Afton Rada Buttars and was the oldest of nine children and loved taking care of her younger brothers and sisters.
She attended Utah Girls State and received a Girls State scholarship. Sheila married Werner Lee Albrecht in 1963 and together they had three daughters. Sheila and Werner divorced in 1980.
Sheila was a member of the LDS Church holding several callings over the years, including Homemaking Leader and chorister in the Relief Scoiety, Secretary and Primary Teacher, Young Women volleyball, softball and basketball coach, Visiting Teacher, Camp director and especially enjoyed the Nursery Class in Afton 3rd and 1st Wards.
She was a certified medical records coder and worked in healthcare most of her life as a medical records director. She worked at Star Valley Medical Center, Evanston Regional Hospital, and South Lincoln Medical Clinic. She was also an E.M.T. and Radiology Technician in Afton. She led a life of service and love and always giving of her time. She was known for her generosity and kindness to all who knew her.
Sheila is survived by her daughters Sandie Lee (Tom) Truchot, Laurilee (Rory) Coates, Diana Lee (Scott) Martin, grandchildren Codee Lee (Jerred) Baxter, Aimee Lee Jensen, Penny Taryn Jensen, Erika (Curtis) Sanders, Jessie James Sanders, McKenzie Mariah Martin, Ashley Anna Martin, and Tyrell Hansen; great-grandchildren, Brysen Baxter, Harmonee Jean Boyd, Rylee Baxter, Aceyn Boyd Whittier, Paislee Baxter, Huxsen Baxter, and Benjamin Jorgensen; brothers, Robert Guy Buttars, Steven Irwin Buttars, Larry Morris Buttars, Blake Layne (Sharon) Buttars, sisters Christy (Bill) Miller, Maren Kaye Seamons and Joanne Peterson. Sheila was also greatful for multiple step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, especially Melissa Ann (Kipp) Johnson, and Teresa Ann (Jim) Ritchie and their families.
She is preceded in death by her father Guy Layne Buttars, mother, Afton Rada Buttars, her brother Warren Stoddard Buttars, son-in-law, Boyd Jensen, brother-in-law Boyd Seamons, sister-in-law Sally (Steven) Buttars, grandparents Irwin and Evelyn Stoddard and Orson and Elva Buttars.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Afton LDS Church, 165 East Fifth Avenue in Afton, Wy. A viewing will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming and one hour prior to the funeral in Afton on Tuesday. Interment will following in the Afton City Cemetery directly after the service.
