Shawna Pecenka

Shawna Leila (Hughes) Pecenka, age 62, passed peacefully on October 10, 2023.

Shawna was born here in Evanston to Ed and Elma Hughes on July 10, 1961 where she spent most of her childhood years. She later married Jim Pecenka of Evanston, Wyoming on June 4, 1993 and spent the next 30 years together.

Shawna was an accomplished in horsemanship and a special gift in understanding animals. She worked as a veterinary technician and preferred spending her time in the company of animals .Shawna had a great love of music and a passion for the color purple.

Shawna is preceded in death by Ed Hughes (Father), Elma Dockstader (Mother) and brothers Eddie Hughes, Sean Hughes, Louis Elizando and many beloved critters.

Shawna is survived by her husband James Pecenka, her daughter TayaLeila and her two brothers Larry Scott Wertz and Shane K. Hughes.

A Celebration of Life Pot Luck Luncheon will be held:
