EVANSTON-Ruth Evalyn Hughes, 73, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Salt Lake City.
She was born in Douglas, Wyoming February 17, 1943 to the late Frances and Maxine Soper, was a graduate of Riverton High School in 1961 and a graduate of Casper Cosmetology School in 1963. In 1964, she started working for the Wyoming State Hospital. In 1980, she opened “Summit Pets” in Evanston where she remained until her retirement January 1, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother in law, Terry Woods.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Victor Hughes; two sons, Neal (Mary Joella) Hughes and Dwight Hughes; two sisters, Lynn Cole and Muriel Wood and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Isaac Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Evanston Animal Control and Shelter, 1148 Front Street, Evanston, WY 82930.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Crandall Funeral Home.
