Rose Hoffmann

d. February 3, 2016

Rose Kennard Hoffmann, 81, of Randolph, Utah, died peacefully February 3, 2016 surrounded by her family and the music she loved.  She is the fourth child of 13, the firstborn of Frank and Gladys (Bischoff) Kennard.  She cherished these relationships and strove to remain close with family whether she lived near or far.

Coming from a very musical family, Rose was active in music and theater throughout her life.  She was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir before finding her eternal companion, Merril V Hoffmann.  They were married in the Logan LDS Temple.  Rose took her love of music to Randolph, where she and Merril lived and raised their seven children.   She participated in and led choirs, performed in musical groups, wrote and directed roadshows, arranged and composed music, and instilled her love of music in her children and grandchildren.  This love was surpassed only by her love for her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.   She loved all of her family and wanted nothing more than to have them near.  As a member of the LDS Church, she served faithfully with a stalwart testimony, which she shared often.

She was blessed to live in a very loving and supportive community. These connections were of great value to her throughout her life.    After her husband’s death in 2009, Rose lived in several assisted living centers where she brought joy to all those she met with her smile and sweet loving spirit.  This same positive attitude helped her endure MS for most of her lifetime.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marilyn Rose Parkes; and siblings, Winnifred, Ralph, Dorothy, Marie, and Robert.  She is survived by six of her children:  Rhett (Rick) Grant, Annette (Dave) Eddy, Jeanie (Lorin) Adkins, David (Carol) Hoffmann, Laura (Wade) Dixon, and Elizabeth (Scot) Moldenhauer; son-in-law, Dale (Christine) Parkes; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; brothers: Jim, Aaron, Lee, Raeburn, Roger, Joe, and Royal Kennard.

The family would like to thank the Gardens, Family Tree West Point, Home Health and Hospice for their loving care.
