Ronald Leslie Neff of Evanston, Wyoming died on December 29, 2012, at Evanston Regional Hospital; he was 63 years old.
Ronald L. Neff was born to Earl Leslie and Bertha Elaine Neff of Houston, Texas on May 25, 1949.  He was raised alongside five siblings: Sheila, Cheryl, Madeline, Steve, and Sue in Farmington, New Mexico where he graduated High School and entered the United States Navy on January 15, 1968.
Ronald L. Neff was married to the late Donna Lee Garrison of Syracuse, New York on June 4, 1970, in Aztec, New Mexico. Ronald and Donna were Navy Corpsman stationed in Camp Pendleton, California and married prior to Ronald’s deployment to Vietnam. Hospitalman Second Class Neff served with Hotel Company, Second Battalion, First Marine Regiment, First Marine Division from 1969 to 1971.
Hospitalman Second Class Neff was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Ribbon for his selfless acts of heroism and extraordinary bravery while engaged in combat actions with enemies of the United States; he left the service honorably on April 20, 1971. Ronald L. Neff sought a career in the oil industry that brought him, Donna and their son, Ronald Earl to Evanston, Wyoming in 1977.  In addition to the oil industry, Ronald L. Neff worked at the Wyoming State Hospital and as a truck driver.
Ronald L. Neff was preceded in death by his father, mother, and wife. Ronald L. Neff is survived by his three children, 1stSgt Ronald Earl (USMC) and wife Amy Neff of North Carolina, Robin Leah and husband Steve Schelling of Colorado, and Rhonda Elaine Neff Esq. of Arizona. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Christopher Neff, Shelbie Schelling, and Ayden Neff.
Ronald L. Neff was passionate about freedom, love of country, hunting, fishing, guns, and outdoors. He was a prideful man whose words inspired many and whose deeds preserved many a life. Although complex in character, Ronald L. Neff believed in living life as a “Simple Man.” He will be missed.
