Ron Smith

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Ron B. Smith passed away peacefully at his home in Kamas, Utah on December 28, 2022.

He was born on March 18, 1946 in Coalville, Utah to Carl and Orpha (Bowers) Smith.

He graduated from South Summit High School in 1965.

He married the love of his life, Cindy Sue Johnson on May 13, 1972 in Francis, Utah.  Together they had two wonderful children Shelly and Stewart.  He was a man that loved his family with all of his heart and always made sure they were cared for.  He shared many talents with his kids and grandkids.  He created constant entertainment and good laughs for family and friends.  He just made life fun.  He enjoyed playing the guitar with his son and grandson. He was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the situation. He loved to be with family camping, boating, gold panning and riding ATV’s.

He started his career hauling logs at 14 years old with his father in Wyoming which led into many other trucking opportunities over the years.  In 1972 he started RB Smith Trucking and Construction.  He made many friends and associates over the years. He was a very skilled equipment operator and truck driver.

He is survived by his loving wife Cindy Sue Smith and children: Shelly Louder (Rodney), Stewart RJ Smith; his brothers, Carlos and Clifford Smith and his three grandchildren, Colsen, Lakel, and Ryker Louder.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Orpha; his in-law parents, Clarence and LaRae Johnson; a brother-in-law, Larry P. Johnson; and sister-in-law, Jan Johnson; a nephew, Brandon Johnson and a niece, Shannon Simpson.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Kamas Event Center, 50 East 400 South.  Viewing will be from 10:30 to 11:45 am at the Event Center.
