KAMAS- Rodney M. Fitzgerald, 62, passed away on March 19, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born December 29, 1951, to Mont and LaNae Fitzgerald in Heber City, UT. Graduated South Summit High School in 1970 and attended Snow College. He married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda Marchant, on September 10, 1971, and together they had three children. He is a treasured son, husband, dad, grandpa, and friend.
A lifelong cattle rancher and sheep man he loved being outdoors working livestock with family and friends, where a good horse and a good dog were always appreciated. Generous and kind, his smile and a helping hand were always ready. His grandkids were a light in his life and he loved every one of them. The Friday afternoons spent with Grandpa and Grandma will be cherished forever. His knowledge of computer systems was pretty impressive for an old cowboy, too.
Survived by Rhonda, his loving wife of 42 years, Son Rowdy (Jonelle) Fitzgerald of Peoa, Son Kasey (Kellie) Fitzgerald of Francis, and Daughter Lacy (Bill) Leavitt of Kamas, Grandchildren: Porter, Nicole,
Ardianna, Kayo, Lexie, Taylor, Paysen, and baby on the way, Mother LaNae Fitzgerald, Brother Kay (Janette) Fitzgerald of Delta, and Sisters Brenda Provost of Heber City, and Jan (Jeff) Jones of Francis. Proceeded in death by his dad Mont Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at the Francis LDS Ward chapel on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Peoa Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
