Robert Verness Sargent, passed away December 28, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born November 27, 1940 in Coalville, Utah to Lorenzo (Mack) McMichael and Eleanor Blazzard Sargent.
He married Lynnette A.E. Dudley on March 21, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Bob was active in the LDS church, served his mission to Raliegh, North Carolina among the Cherokee people, held the following callings: Sunday School Teacher, Ward Clerk and Ward Missionary. He enjoyed: walking, doing genealogy, supporting South Summit sports, especially football, basketball, wrestling and track. Unlike his children, his grandkids loved going on long drives with him to learn about all kinds of farm animals and alternate scenic routes. Among his favorite drives was from Marion, Utah through Wolf Creek pass to Tabiona, Utah. He worked for his brother Jack at Sargent Timber as a sawyer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Lorenzo Blazzard Sargent.
He is survived by his children: Jenette (Deron) Dazley, of Phoenix, AZ; Collin Sargent, of Marion; Andrew (Rebecca) Sargent, of Mountain Home, Idaho; Matthew Sargent, of Marion; Timothy Sargent, of Orem; Daniel (Carrie) Sargent, of Logan; Heather (Jeff) Hough of Oakley; and Emily (Jeff) Boyer, of Marion. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the Kamas LDS Stake Center in Marion, Utah. Viewing will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in the Marion Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
