Riley Jordan Flake was born 4 Feb 1990 to James and Deanne Flake, in Evanston, Wyoming. He attended North Elementary, Evanston Middle School, and Evanston High School, graduating in 2008 with four years of perfect attendance and straight A’s. Riley studied for one year at the University of Wyoming.
Riley married Mandy Lee Murphree, 31 Aug 2011, in Evanston. They have three children: Silas Dean Flake, Willow Anne Flake, and Ashur Robert Flake.
Riley worked at High Country Behavioral Health, as a manager at McDonalds and at Ensignal, and recently as a Med Tech at the Wyoming State Hospital. He enjoyed working with persons having disabilities, was working on obtaining his CNA license and wanted to pursue additional training.
Riley engaged in a number of interests including: drumming, singing, reading, yoga, and being in the outdoors. Most recently he enjoyed writing poetry and performing Karaoke. Riley had dreams of becoming an artist and a musician. Above all Riley surrounded himself with family and friends. He was loved by many and supported many with friendship, interest, depth, and humor. His greatest priority was the time he spent with his children.
Riley passed away Sunday, 24 Feb 2019, in Ogden, Utah, at Ogden Regional Medical Center. He was 29 years old.
Riley is survived by his children, their mother, and his parents. He is also survived by his eight siblings: Rebecca Barrus (Toby) of Kaysville, Utah; Margaret Pavithran (Sachin) of Providence, Utah; John (Julie) of Alexandria, Virginia; Darl (Tiffany) of Magna, Utah; Brett (Jenny) of Lehi, Utah; Redge (Marissa) and Rance, both of Springville, Utah; and Jennie Bowcut (Brandon) of Evanston. Riley is also survived by his Grandmother, Mervie Earl of Adrian, Oregon, his in-laws, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a myriad of treasured friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2nd, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 251 Elm Street, in Evanston at 2:30 p.m. A public viewing will be held at the church at 1:30 p.m. immediately before the service.
