Richard Kenyon Franson, 81, of West Valley City, Utah passed away on February 6, 2021. He was born in Park City, Utah on May 17, 1939 to Everett and Florence (Kenyon) Franson and grew up in nearby Oakley, Summit County, Utah. He married his wife Dian Titus on January 11, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple and spent their life together for 42 years in West Valley, Utah.
Rick served an LDS mission to the Central States Mission, returning to later join the US Army and finishing his service in the US Army Reserve. He supported his family through hard work and dedication as a mechanic, showing his love through the labor of his hands. He lived his life on his own terms, but tried to live by the words “Be kind to each other”, his last words of advice to his children in this life.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Dian; his parents and younger brother Ken.
He is survived by his 4 children, Wendy (Rodney), Scott, Brian, Steven (Jamie); 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, all of which will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held in Kamas, Utah on Wednesday, Feb 17 with a viewing at the Crandall Funeral Home from 12pm - 2pm, with a graveside service and final interment at the nearby Oakley Cemetery at 3pm.
