RHEA C COX (CONDOS)
March 24, 1930 – May 5, 2018
Rhea’s wish to go home was granted on May 5, 2018 at the Abbington Memory Center in Heber, Utah where she passed from complications with advanced dementia.
She was born in Carter, Wyoming on March 24, 1930 to John Condos and Mildred (Lee) Condos.
Rhea attended school in Carter and Evanston.
On December 31, 1946 she married Otto Gene Jacobson in Evanston, Wyoming. They later divorced. On October 4, 1963 she married James E Cox in Elko, Nevada.
Rhea resided in Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and Colorado before returning to Wyoming in 1962. Jim and Rhea travelled to Texas in the winter for several years. Carter, Mountain View and Evanston have been her residences for the past 55 years.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Rhea worked at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston and at Benedict Trading Company in Mountain View.
Her hobbies and interests included the Bridger Valley Historical Society, working on genealogy, reading, sewing, traveling, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Rhea is survived by sisters: Elaine Williams, Cheyenne; Veda Staley, Evanston; and sister-in-law, Judy Condos. Sons: Brad (Linda) Jacobson, Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming; Jimme (Janey) Jacobson, Randolph, Utah; daughters: Joleen (Buck) King, Edgerton, Wyoming and Kayleen (Robert) Rayl, Evanston. Eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, step-daughters, Shirley Cox and Sherry Hawks, brother Bill Condos, sister Louise Roath, brothers-in-law Eugene (Yak) Roath, Joe Williams, and Lamont Staley.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the L.D.S. Fifth Ward Chapel, Oak & Elm Street, Evanston. Viewing will be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
