Reta Wilson Weston, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Randolph on Nov 26, 2014, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 9, 1922 in Randolph, UT, to John Earl and Frances Loretta (Nicholls) Wilson. She was the youngest of four children.
Mom attended South Rich High School and spent her entire life in Rich County. She married Joseph Simeon Weston on September 9, 1942, and moved into the two room house on the Diamond W Ranch, where they lived until they built a home in town when the kids were old enough to attend school. They spent their summers on the ranch and mom cooked for many haymen.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and held many callings in the various organizations. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a stay at home mom and an avid supporter of us in our various activities. She was a member of the Utah Cowbell organization for many years. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and looked forward to their visits. She loved watching them in school programs and sporting events. She especially enjoyed visits from the young children.
Some of mom’s favorite things were traveling/girl trips, shopping, making candy/dipping chocolates, Christmas, family gatherings, card games, puzzles, giving gifts to others, and watching the Utah Jazz.
Mom is survived by her 3 daughters, Sharon Weston of Randolph, Shirley (Reed) Olsen of Brigham City, and Kayleen (Ron) Stuart of Randolph. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren, and 1 great, great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, at the Randolph Church at noon, with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral. Also a viewing will be held Sunday night, Nov. 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Randolph Ward Church in Randolph, UT.
