Ray Jones

February 12, 1927 — March 11, 2016

Ray W Jones, age 89, passed away March 11, 2016 at his home in Kamas, Utah.
Ray was born February 12, 1927 in Francis, Utah to Abram G. and Georgeanna (Prescott) Jones.
He married Helen Gines on January 21, 1948 in Hanna, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 6, 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Laurel, Don, Del, Floyd, Lloyd, Mary, Ida & Leah.
Ray was a veteran of World War II. He became active in the LDS church holding several callings, teaching the High Priests was one he enjoyed.  He was also a proud member of Iron Workers Local 27.  He worked on Flaming Gorge Dam, the suspension bridge over the Green River, the uranium mines, the ore shafts at FMC, and worked on the first ski gondola in Park City.  He enjoyed camping with his family and being a “camp boss” at the Gines Family Reunion.
Ray is survived by his wife Helen, and sons: Steven (Linda), Michael (Sheri), Brent (Mary), Glen (Jill), Jeffery (Jan), Kenneth (Janell), 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday March 15, at 12:00 noon at the Kamas L.D.S. Ward Chapel, 100 West Center Street, Kamas, Utah. There will be a viewing on Monday March 14, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Kamas LDS Chapel, and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Marion Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
