M. Ramona Stewart Stevens
Our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend left this world behind on Tuesday, September 2, 2015 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 87. She was born on June 7, 1928 on a dairy farm in Hiawatha, Carbon County, Utah to Milton Deloy Stewart and Rozella Anderson. She married Earl E. Stevens on April 16, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS church serving in many positions including Stake and Ward Relief Society president, and Stake Young Women’s president. Her favorite calling was compassionate service leader. Later, with her husband, she served a fulltime mission in the Atlanta Georgia Temple and was a Salt LakeTemple Worker She enjoyed having her family around her, serving them wonderful meals, canning, gardening and making beautiful quilts.
She is survived by her children: her sons: Dennis (Michelle), Jeffery (Della), Kevin (Sue), David (Teresa); and her daughters Gay Lynn (Grant) Hatch and Elizabeth (Zane) Woolstenhulme. She is also survived by her sister Eva Behrman (Denver, Colorado) and sister-in-law Lillian Whetton (Murray, Utah) and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She was the proud grandmother of 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, parents, brothers Verlynn and Deloy Stewart and grandchildren Lance and Melanie Stevens.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 7th at Noon in the Oakley/Peoa Ward Building, 1224 W SR 32. Friends may call at the church on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. , and on Monday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Stevens Family Cemetery in Oakley, Utah under the direction of the Crandall Funeral Home.
