RaeOma Kindler Tingey, of Woodruff Utah graduated from this life with many cherished memories of family and friends on May 16, 2024, at the age of 81.
She was born May 11,1943 in Garrison, Nebraska to Alvin Kindler and Dorothy Fair. The family moved to Evanston Wyoming when she was about 6 months old. She was the seventh of eleven children. At 16 years of age, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While RaeOma was working at the Whirl Inn Café, Fred came in and ordered “Chicken in the Basket” to go. Fred kept returning for good food and great service. Fred and RaeOma were married November 20, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together with family and friends. Throughout the years, she enjoyed caring for children and the elderly, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoyed several jobs: waitressing in her teenage years, both at Freeman’s and at the Whirl Inn Café, being desk clerk at her brother’s Whirl Inn Motel; working with the food service at schools in Evanston; and one of her favorites-door greeter at Walmart.
She enjoyed serving as a Primary Teacher, a Relief Society Secretary, and as a Nursery Leader. She was a wonderful mother and cook. She enjoyed going for walks in the great outdoors. She had a great pitch when playing baseball like her dad and uncles.
RaeOma suffered for many years with diabetes, neuropathy, and dementia. We will miss her but now she can run and not be weary, walk and not faint because the physical limitations on her tiny body are gone.
She is survived by her husband Francis (Fred), and their children: Mark, Gayla (Craig) Bills, Alvin (Kristy), David (Ronda), Tony (Laureen); 13 grandchildren: Andrea Tingey, Cody Tingey, Laura (Zachary) Mergen, Sarah Tingey, Jeramy Bills, Seana (Alan) Elam, Jessica Bills, Brian Bills, Tasha Ayres, Meagan Tingey, Tiana Tingey, Trevor Tingey, and Sophie Sheely. Great Grandchildren: Nicole Armendariz, Ryan Tingey, Joshua Perkes, Brodie Perkes, and Richard Perkes, Kaydance Bailey, Lizzy Guzman, Arianna Bills, Megan Bills, Alaina Elam, Sarah Elam, Ryan Elam, Andrew Elam, Ellie Ayers, and Adam Ayers.
RaeOma is also survived by her siblings: Keith (Abieda), Kindler, Thomas (Ann) Kindler, and Twyla (Russell Williams-friend). She was preceded in death by her parents, and many siblings: Janice (Lynne) Adkins, Patricia Kindler, Norbert (Gerri-living) Kindler, Ronda (Frank) Lamb, JaeDee (Jan-living) Kindler, Vietta (Wayne-living) Borino, Sheila Kindler (sister-in-law), and Jim Beutel (brother-in-law), and recently (only 3 days after RaeOma) her sister Ila (Mel) Taylor.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 24th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming and Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Woodruff, Utah from 9:00 to 10:45. Her funeral will begin at 11:00 am with burial in the Woodruff Cemetery.
We would like to thank family and friends, Rich County EMTs, Atlas Home Health, Cache Valley Assisted Living, and Crandall Funeral Home for their loving care.
RaeOma and Fred have felt privileged to have lived in Woodruff all these years. They have been blessed by the many wonderful people who befriended, served, and cared for them through visits and phone calls, bringing delicious meals, delivering groceries and their medicines, shoveling and plowing the snow, mowing their lawn, and so forth, especially during these past few years.
We are going to miss her, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and Fred’s dear sweet wife who we dearly love. We know she is having a wonderful reunion in Heaven with family and friends, pain free. We are grateful families can be together forever.
