Paul Pihl passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Paul was born on October 8, 1953 in Choteau, Montana to Gustav Pihl and Mildred Talifson Pihl. He spent his early years as a jack of all trades, picking up work where he could on farms and ranches. He later became employed as a surveyor for Halliburton Geophysical which eventually led him to Mt. View where he would quickly fall in love with JoAnn Palmer. He and JoAnn were married in Manila, Utah on November 7, 1991. Paul had a joy for life that was contagious. Facinated by the simplest of pleasures, he took great interest in being in the outdoors, fishing, camping, reading and bargin hunting at yard sales as well as spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Pihl of Mountain View, WY; children, Dustie (Deen) Slaugh of Millburne, Wyoming; Ben (Devon) Ramirez of Hines, OR; and Anthony Ramirez, of Mountain View, WY; his former wife Nancy Carter and their two childeren, Krystal (Michael) Martin, and Genevieve Martin, both of Vichey, MO; as well as his sister, Diane Bishop of Choteau, Montana; and 10 beautiful grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and best friend, Dana Lawson.
A memorial service will be held in the Mountain View LDS Ward Chapel onThursday, July 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
