“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” -- Hunter Thomas, American journalist
Paul Frederick Leckie, indeed, lead his life his way . . . making his path . . . making his own decisions . . . making his own “smoke” . . . and making others around him more of a person for having known him. He did not shy away from life’s challenges, tackling them all with all of the physical and emotional strength he possessed. Paul’s physical journey began 54 years ago in Bury St. Edmunds, England, on December 12, 1959, in the arms of his mother and ended in Evanston, in the arms of God on April 11, 2014, with his mother at his bedside and his deceased father, George M. Leckie, welcoming him home. Paul will be remembered by his mother, Stella C. Leckie, his siblings, Constance M. Solheim, Michael G. Leckie, Terence M. Leckie, and Patrick Fitzgerald Leckie; his son, Ryan Paul Leckie, and the rest of his extended family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for April 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 837 Center Street, Evanston, Wyoming. Friends are welcome to join the family in Mass celebrating Paul’s life.
