Paul Herbert Danks, age 75, of Green River, WY, passed away on February 25, 2020.
Paul was born to Elmer W. and Virginia (Dannah) Danks. He was raised on the Danks Brothers Ranch in Evanston, WY and graduated from Evanston High School in 1964. He earned his Eagle Scout rank the previous year. He went on to Trade Technical Institute in Salt Lake then entered the Air Force in 1966 where he was eventually stationed in Minot, ND.
Paul married the love of his life, Sharon M. (Lester) Danks on July 6th, 1968. They spent 52 wonderful years together.
Paul was an electrician. After his discharge from the Air Force he worked for Union Pacific Railroad before moving on to FMC. He retired from FMC after 38 years.
He loved fishing and hunting in his spare time and spent many happy days camping and boating at Flaming Gorge with his wife and friends. He was a talented photographer who had his own darkroom and took photos for many of his family’s special events. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics, first with various types of radios in his younger years then later with many different kinds of media devices and computers.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife Sharon of Green River and a niece, Nola Cutts of Evanston as well as her children (one of whom she lovingly named after her Uncle Paul). He also leaves behind a large extended family of in-laws who all thought the world of him and all loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Virginia Danks and his sister Leora Danks, all of Evanston; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Pat Lester of Lyman; his brother-in-law Von Chamberlain of Lyman; a nephew-in-law George Cutts and a niece-in-law Jeannie Krupp. He was also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins, including his two favorite uncles, Fred and Dewey Danks, both of Evanston.
