Pat passed away peacefully in her home on October 20, 2013 following a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born Patti Ann Malan on October 1, 1954 in Ogden, UT to Bernice Brinkerhoff and Frank Joseph Malan. She attended Ogden High School and Hollywood Beauty College.
Pat married in 1969 resulting in the birth of her two children, Laddie Ray Tycz, Jr and Tina Jo Tycz. That union ended in 1979. That same year she met her “best friend and the love of her life”, Ray “Slim” Allen Dickey whom she married August 28, 1980. They were blessed with 33 years of marriage, business partnership and many crazy adventures. Whether they were fishing, riding horses, working, mining for gold, cutting timber, or just going for one of their off-the-beaten-trail drives…they were an inseparable pair acquiring an extended network of friends and chosen family through the years that are all very dear to them.
An extremely talented and compassionate lady, Pat inherited a special way with children and animals from the dad that she adored. She was an avid horsewoman…loving to make them the subject of her beautiful pencil sketches and carvings throughout the beloved home her and Slim built together. She was always reading a novel, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens or cooking something wonderful for people to eat. She impacted so many lives through her kind, giving, and selfless spirit. She drew incredible strength from her love of the Lord displaying courage, good humor, intelligence, and loyalty no matter what the circumstance. She will be greatly missed until we see her in Heaven.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, an infant brother and an infant grandson. She is survived by her husband, Ray Allen Dickey of Evanston, WY; her brothers, Ernest Francis Malan (Cherie) of Ivins, UT and Max Riley Malan of Virgin, UT; her son, Laddie Ray Tycz, Jr. of Evanston, WY; her daughter, Tina Jo Cummings (James) of Rock Springs, WY; her stepdaughter, Amy Ja Lockmer (Troy ) of Butte, MT; her stepson, Justin Allen Dickey (Amy) of Carson City, NV; her furry kids, ZippieDoodle & Tagaroo; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
