Patricia Mae Burleigh Wilson passed away May 11, 2022, in Clinton, Utah. Pat had a 5-year long battle with dementia but stayed strong and independent right until the end.
Pat was born May 21, 1947, to Leonard Frank Burleigh and Beulah (Cornia) Burleigh, in Coalville, Utah. She grew up in Evanston Wyoming with her four sisters. They were a tight knit group. They exchanged purses, went on picnics, attended ceramic classes, and spent long hours visiting at each other’s houses and on the phone.
On March 21, 1971, she married Max LeRoy Wilson in Evanston, Wyoming. Max and Pat spent their whole married life in Randolph, Utah. They enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and sneaking off to Wendover to gamble. Pat worked right along Max taking care of the lawn, getting firewood, and maintaining their household. She worked for the Rich County School District as a custodian and lunch lady. She enjoyed the interaction with the students. They would tease her and Pat would tease them right back even if it meant unplugging her vacuum down the hall. Pat was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served many years in the nursery.
Pat enjoyed her morning walks with Missy Argyle and talking on the phone with Margaret Lamborn. She walked many miles with her sister-in-law Cathy Wilson and their children. Pat enjoyed the small town and community of Randolph Utah.
It was extremely difficult on Pat after being diagnosed with dementia and needing to leave her home in Randolph. She moved to Clinton Utah to a place called Barrington. As Pat settled in to her new “home” she met many new friends that walked many miles with her. She attended activities, went on van rides, made crafts, and went “shopping” in other residents’ rooms for their jewelry.
She is survived by three children Courtney (Mark) Satterthwaite, Carey (Larry) Putnam, and Spence Wilson; she will also be missed by her grandchildren; Ashby, Kayla, KC, Hailey, Brenley, and Kolter, her great grandchildren Taycee, Oakley, Brixton, Quinn, and Brantley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max Wilson, her parents, and her sisters Jackie Lyons, Marlene Kaas, Ann Bumgardner, and Carolyn Fisher.
The family of Patricia Wilson would like to thank the staff at Barrington Memory Care Center in Clinton Utah and the hospice nurse Nicole and hospice aid Kristina. They kept her dignity right till the end and cared for her in such a way that Pat felt like they were family.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. May 21st, at the Randolph Cemetery. A viewing will be held at 9:30-10:40 a.m. at the Randolph L.D.S. church.
