Pamilla Graves Smith passed away on February 24, 2014 in Murray, Utah. She was born in Rolfe, Iowa, on March 9, 1936, to John Preston and Johanna Stueland Graves.
She graduated from Rolfe High School and Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. She married Vernon Eugene Smith Jr. on October 18, 1958 in Fairmont, Minnesota.
Pam taught English in Iowa, South Dakota, and Wyoming at Natrona County High School. After moving to Evanston, Wyoming, she taught GED classes for 21 years at the Wyoming State Hospital. She was a Presbyterian and enjoyed gardening, home-canning, oil painting, and writing Poetry. At various times, she did volunteer work in The Compassionate Friends, American Mensa, Wyoming Writers, and AARP.
Pam is survived by her sister Geraldine Peterson of Meridian, Idaho, and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; son Jason Smith; parents Preston and Johanna; sisters Mary Kline, Joan Warren, and Jean Hayden, and a brother John Bernard Graves.
As were her wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home of Evanston, Wyoming. No services are planned. Burial will take place at a later date in the Evanston City Cemetery next to her son Jason.
