Norma Moon Atkinson, 98, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great-great grandmother passed away, surrounded by her family, in Oakley Utah on October 21, 2014.
Born on January 12, 1916 in Woodland, Utah to Hyrum and Kathryn Moon. She attended South Summit High School in Kamas Utah. She married Theron Atkinson in 1935 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1965. Together they raised three sons, Duane, Carmen and Farrell. Norma was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked with the children in the primary for many years.
Surviving family members include her son Carmen Atkinson (Renee) of Francis Utah, son Farrell Atkinson (Kae) of Francis Utah, daughter-in-law LaDene Atkinson of Francis Utah, 13 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 41 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Theron Atkinson, her son Duane Atkinson, her sisters Doris Atkinson & Beth Gordon, and her brothers Warren Atkinson & Rulon Atkinson and a grandson, Kim Atkinson
The family would like to thank Audrey, Brittany, and all of the folks at the Elk Meadows facility in Oakley Utah for the special extraordinary care they gave grandma.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Francis L.D.S. Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the church on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Francis Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home, Kamas.
