Neta Shirley Fackrell Bateman passed away on Thursday, November 01, 2012, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center. Neta was born on February 13, 1940 in Lyman, Wyoming.
She was the youngest of 7 children. Her parents were Opal Bingham Fackrell and Orlen Francis “Frank” Fackrell.
Neta attended her school years in Lyman, and was a proud graduate of Lyman High School. After graduation she attended cosmetology school, where she loved experimenting with the latest styles of the 60’s. Neta married the love of her life, James A. “Jim” Bateman on September 8, 1965 in Evanston, Wyoming. Neta was an active member of the LDS Church. She completed many certificates in the medical field and was an excellent CNA. Neta began her nursing career at the old Rennie Nursing Home, and continued to work for the Rocky Mountain Care Center , retiring after 40 years of service. Her most recent job duties at Rocky Mountain Care were with the Activities Director, where she really enjoyed entertaining, teasing, partying, and socializing with the residents. She enjoyed Bingo, going to Wendover, dinner at the Elks Club, dinner out anywhere, going for rides, having lunch with her “Red Hat” Ladies, playing with Suzi, and spending time with friends.
Neta was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bateman, who passed away on August 1, 2006, her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and her special puppy, Suzi.
Funeral services will be held at the Crandall Funeral Home on Monday, November 5, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Evanston City Cemetery.
