She was born January 23, 1920 in Laramie, Wyoming to Della Elizabeth Crosbie Landis, and Claude C. Landis. Her Mom had recently graduated from the University of Wyoming and her Dad was an engineer with Union Pacific Railroad. Her parents later divorced, and mother remarried Walter Harris of Evanston, Wyoming. Millie had a younger brother, Walt Harris. Millie grew up in Evanston and Salt Lake City, Utah. She trained in nursing at Holy Cross Hospital where she obtained her RN. Later, she returned to school at the University of Utah, earning a Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing.
As a young woman she worked as a civilian nurse at Bushnell Army Hospital in Brigham City, Utah. Lucky for her because that is where she met her husband, W. Lee Bradshaw. They married August 3, 1945. Millie and Brad had two very much loved daughters, Virginia Lee Casady and Beverly Ann Boyce. For most of her adult life, Millie worked at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston. She was the Director of Nurses, taught U of Wyoming psych nursing students, and also did individual and group counseling. Her work at the hospital meant a lot to her, and she did an excellent job in all the various capacities.
Millie and Brad lived in Evanston, and also Mesquite, Nevada where they built a winter home, in 1994. They also built and designed a cabin home in the Upper Green River area outside of Pinedale, Wyoming. They had motor homes and traveled around the country a bit after retirement. Millie absolutely loved life. She was so grateful for her time, and for her wonderful husband. They were so good to each other. Millie had a fierce, strong love for her daughters, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Millie had very loving and kind neighbors and friends in Evanston, whom she appreciated and loved. Millie was very aware of her great good fortune to live the long, wonderful life she had. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Brad and her daughter, Virginia.
