Marvin Del Lamb passed away at his home in Mountain View, Wyoming on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was 85 years old. Del was born in Robertson, Wyoming to William Marvin and Florence Martha (Rasmussen) Lamb on February 28, 1931.
Del went to school in Mountain View, Wyoming. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict serving from January 1951 to December of 1954. Del worked construction for many years and eventually became a carpenter and during his last years of work was a machine operator for the Uinta County Road & Bridge Establishment. He was one of the original “Handy Men”. He could fix most anything and loved doing it.
Del was happiest when he was doing something outdoors. Camping, hunting, fishing, and trapping were his favorites. He loved to have his family with him and especially enjoyed the children. He loved playing practical jokes and having them played on him.
Del married Sally Rickert of Evanston, Wyoming November 10, 1953 and was happily married for 63 years. They were blessed with four children; Marty (Sally) Lamb, Tracy (Russ) Fowler, Chris Lamb, and Kelly Stewart. They also have four grandchildren; Randi, Ken, Becky, and Sara, and six great grandchildren; Alex, Jaxon, Tahler, Tegan, Addi, and Ava. Del is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a brother Ralph Lamb and two sisters Jessie Monroe and Edith Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Mickey, Frank, Jack, and Dean, and four sisters; Emma, Dorothy, Zella, and Lula.
Services to honor his life will be held at the Fort Bridger American Legion Hall in Fort Bridger, Wyoming on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11 am. A viewing will be held on hour prior to services. Burial will take place with military honors at the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
