Marshall Jay Eastman passed away on January 21, 2014 at his home In Evanston, Wyoming. Jay was born on October 24, 1941 in Woodruff, Utah a son of Delmar Weldon and Leath Bruce Eastman.
Jay married Constance Porter on January 2, 1960 in Paris, Idaho. On December 19, 1972 they were sealed in the Ogden LDS temple. Jay and Connie spent 54 years together. To this union 5 children were born.
Jay loved his children, grandchildren, and especially his spouse. He loved family get-togethers and spending time with them. He had a master’s eye and touch with heavy equipment and loved dirt construction. He completed many different projects in various states and towns, particularly roads in both Utah and Wyoming. Jay’s favorite place to live was the Bridger Valley where most of the years raising his family were spent. He worked on the state line dam and spent years in the oil field but especially loved his last employment which was with Uinta County Road and Bridge stationed in Mountain View.
He retired in 2007 and spent years camping and four wheeling in the Uinta Mountains. In 2008 they moved to Evanston to be closer to some of their children to help with his failing health.
Jay is survived by his spouse Connie, daughters; Lori Ann (Louis) Hernandez, Marnie Jo(John) Moritz, Jaylene K. and companion Eric Jones. Sons; Kevin Jay (Wendy) Eastman, Scott Alan(Renee). Eastman. Jay is survived by 17 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters; Ilene Matthews, Renae Call, Faye Connely, sister in law Pat Eastman. Brother Paul Eastman.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one brother in law.
Funeral services for Jay will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Elm Street LDS chapel. Visitation will be held on January 26, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Crandall Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to funeral services.
Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery.
