Marjorie LaVerne Sim Norris
1920-2012
Marjorie LaVerne Sim Norris, age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great
grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Glenna.
Marjorie was born on September 15, 1920, to loving parents, James Sydney Sim and Charlotte May Sims
Sim in Evanston, Wyoming. She was the second oldest child with three brothers, Arthur, Charles and
Jack.
Marjorie married her sweetheart Robert (Bob) Henry Norris in the Salt Lake Temple on May 20, 1942.
They had four children, Glenna (John) Eldridge, Mary Lou (Guy) Jandreau, Charlotte (Anor) Limb and
Chris Norris.
Marjorie lived in Evanston until the couple built their dream cabin in Alpine, Wyo. They lived there for
several years enjoying the mountain atmosphere (camping and fishing) and being well-known members
of the community, until Bob passed away in 2000. Marjorie moved back to Evanston for little while
before moving to Breese Illinois, to live with her daughter Glenna.
Marjorie had a strong passion for the church and served many callings in the Primary, Young Women
and Relief Society. She and her husband Bob were active members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys
Association (PRCA) and she brought love and support to him as he served as PRCA Chairman. Marjorie
was also a dedicated member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers.
A strong lady who loved her family, Marjorie took great care to make specially crocheted blankets for all
her grand kids.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenna, Marylou and Charlotte, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Arthur, Charles, and Jack, husband Bob and son
Chris.
A viewing was held in Illinois. Family and friends may call at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta Street in Evanston, Wyoming from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Evanston, Wyo. The funeral will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Evanston Cemetery.
