Marian Bair

February 20, 1928 — February 26, 2017

Marian Hurst Bair (1928 - 2017)
Marian Hurst Bair, our beautiful Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, was reunited with her family that have passed on before her in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 26, 2017.  She passed away peacefully at Park City Hospital.  Marian was born February 20, 1928, in Blanding, San Juan County, Utah, to John Franklin and Bertha May Rogers Hurst.  She was the fifth child born to this family.  She had four brothers: John (Dorothy) Hurst (both deceased), Hugh Hurst, Mark (Sue) Hurst,  and Roger (Linda) Hurst, and four sisters Echo (deceased), Emily (David) Pollard (deceased), Roena (Marion) Larsen (both deceased), and MaeBeth (Bill) Munk.
She grew up in Blanding, Utah and a part of her heart was always there.  She could go anywhere in her life and find people who came from her small community in Utah, and she would say what a small world we lived in.
Marian met and fell in love with a handsome man, Sherwin Clifford Bair, from Richmond, Cache Valley, Utah.  They were married on July 15, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple.  They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this July. They resided in Richmond, Cache Valley and there they raised their eight children.
Mom was active in the LDS church and has served in many callings.  One of her memorable callings was being Relief Society President twice.  She enjoyed this calling, serving the sisters with great care.
Our mother was an amazing woman - beautiful, elegant and vivacious.  She loved her family deeply and was very proud of who they became as adults.  She lived with three of her children in her later years, and enjoyed the time that she had with them - especially being able to spend time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren that came and visited with her.
Marian is survived by their eight children, Catherine (Ken) Walston of Tucson, AZ; Alana (Colin) Jenkins of Clancy, MT; Joy (Gary) Stone of Gilbert, AZ; Ann (Dave) Downs of Fountain Valley, CA; Ruth (Randy) Bindrup of South Jordan, UT; David (Frances) Bair of Francis, UT; Rex (Amy) Bair of Hesperia, CA; and Phillip (Kristie) Bair of Francis, UT.  She is also survived by 30 grandchildren with 21 spouses and 69 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her loving husband, Sherwin Clifford Bair. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Francis LDS Church House, located at 387 West Last Frontier Lane.  A public viewing will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to the services at the church.  Condolences may be sent to the family at 875 West Oak Lane Francis, Utah 84036. Burial will follow at the Francis Cemetery.
