Margaret Majoris

Margaret Ilona Majoris, 78, passed away Tuesday February 21, 2017 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Marge was born February 25, 1938 in West Frankfort, IL to George and Theresa (Uveges) Magyar. She had a wonderful childhood with sisters Julia, Mary and brother Joseph. Marge graduated West Frankfort High School in 1956. The day after she graduated, she moved to Gary, IN to be with sister Julia and her family. She worked at Illinois Bell in Chicago for seven years.

In 1962, she met the love of her life, Joseph Majoris and they married August 3, 1963 in Gary, IN.

On November 18, 1964 they welcomed daughter Patricia Ann and on February 6, 1966 they welcomed son Joseph George.
Marge cherished being a wife, mother and homemaker. With Joe’s work in 1968, the family relocated to Rock Springs, WY. Even with moving to Wyoming the Majoris family always looked forward to their yearly vacations back east to visit family.
Together as a family and with many friends they enjoyed getting together for birthdays, life events and camping on the weekends.

In 1975, the Majoris family moved to Mountain View, WY. While the kids went to school and Joe worked at the Trona Mines, Marge enjoyed selling Avon and Watkins.

In August 1996 they retired with a surprise retirement and anniversary party. Shortly after the party they moved down the road to Ft. Bridger. Marge loved to travel visiting the children and their families, going to Polka festivals, spending time with her wonderful friends, cooking, shopping and watching old movies.

Marge had a deep faith and was a member of St. Helens Catholic Church in Ft. Bridger, WY.

Marge is survived by her husband of 54 years Joseph, daughter Patricia Walbert, son Joseph (Linda) Majoris, grandchildren Keisha and Kaycee Majoris, Shandy and William Walbert, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses Julia and Philip Jenson, Mary and Joseph Gossick, Joseph and Pauline Magyar and mother and father in law, Joseph and Mary Majoris, Sr., sister and brother in law Pauline and Charles Dynes and son in law William Walbert.

The viewing is 6:00 PM Friday February 24, 2017 at St. Helens Catholic Church with rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass is at 11:00 AM, Saturday with graveside services to follow at Ft. Bridger Cemetery.

A luncheon will be served at the church hall following the service at the cemetery.
