(Kamas) Lynn Watson Mitchell “Shorty” was reunited with the love of his life March 30, 2018 as he passed away peacefully at his home in Kamas, Utah.
He was born October 14, 1943 to Wallace Mitchell and Margaret Anderson Mitchell. He is preceded in death by his wife Judi, twin sons Kevin and Kurt, and son-in-law, Steven Randall.
Lynn married his sweetheart, the late Judi Nordahl on May 8, 1965. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Lynn was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed working in the Salt Lake City temple alongside his siblings. He was an extremely dedicated father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren as well as being a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He spent many days watching and nurturing his grandchildren and they wanted to be just like him. He had an unparalleled joy for life and the littlest things could make his day.
Lynn loved his work as an autobody repairman and was most happy when he had a diesel cab sitting in his garage. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix or build anything from stilts to treehouses. If he didn’t have the parts he’d figure out a way—he was incredibly resourceful. He had a witty sense of humor and made friends with everyone he met. He was nostalgic as they come and appreciated anything well built.
He is survived by his daughters: Marci Mitchell (Scott Walstrom), Staci Randall, Jodi Jones and four grandchildren: Lyndi and Hadli Murray, Kylee and Kameron Jones, three siblings: Rae Woodard, Jack (Janice) Mitchell, Janice (Jimmy) Crystal; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kamas, Utah LDS Chapel, 100 West Center Street. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Marion Cemetery.
