Lynda Marie Payne

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend Lynda Marie Payne, age 81 returned to her heavenly father Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born to Eugene D. and Althea (Murdock) Payne June 13, 1942, in Heber City, Utah.

She was a Wasatch graduate and later earned her bachelor’s degree, becoming a Legal Secretary. Lynda owned and operated The Mountain Spa Resort in Midway where she enjoyed horseback riding and teaching swimming lessons to many of the area children. Lynda enjoyed cross country skiing, hiking Timpanogos and spending time with her family. During the school season Lynda was an aide teaching children to read. Her students absolutely loved her and were sad when she retired. She was the biggest animal lover and advocate. Her horses, cats, dogs and all the wildlife that came through her property were all spoiled beyond belief.

Lynda is survived by her children Scott J. Larson, Christian (Christine) Larson, Valorie (Kyle) Cummings, Gina Larson, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and her sister Kathleen Loveless. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Tammy Larson, two grandsons, Jacob and Zachery Larson and brother Farrell Payne

Lynda’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to the Intermountain medical and hospice staff for the care of our mother.

Lynda and her family would appreciate in lieu of flowers to donate to the friends of animals.
