LuDean McCormick Wilde Walker, 78, passed away on August 10, 2014, as a result of congestive heart failure. LuDean was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched innumerable lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. LuDean was born December 5, 1935, along with her twin sister LuAnn to Keith and Berneice McCormick in Oakley, UT. She graduated from South Summit High School in 1954. She married Daniel George Wilde in 1957, and they had 3 children. They were later sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple. She spent her life loving and serving her children and grandchildren. She loved to work with and for them. She was happiest when those around her were well fed and having fun. After Dan’s death in 2001, she then married Gordon Van Walker in 2008. LuDean’s life was one marked by service to all. She loved her family, her God, and her country. She served her family with good food, clean homes, and unconditional love. As a lifelong member of the LDS Church, she served in every organization and responded willingly to any request made of her. She showed her love of country by serving in the American Legion, working tirelessly to support veterans, and working long hours at election polls. She never thought of herself, but always of others. Whether picking up cans on her daily walks, fixing food for a neighbor, comforting a grandchild, or saving a stray animal, she was determined to make the world better each day. Her loss will be lasting, but her legacy is an inspiration to all.
She is survived by her husband Van Walker, children Wendy (Van) Hadlock, Dale (Cheryl) Wilde, Susan (Neil) Dawson, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and brothers Jaren (Patti) McCormick and Gary (Karen) McCormick. Preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband Dan.
