SALINA, UT… Louise Lorentzen Bown, age 82 of Salina, UT, passed away November 1, 2020. Born on September 26, 1938, in Beaver, UT She is the daughter of Reed and Audrie Lorentzen of Salina, UT She attended North Sevier High School. In her sophomore year, she set the state record in track. She attended Girls State. Valedictorian of her graduation class. She married Doug Bown of Fayette, UT on May 25, 1956, in the Manti LDS Temple. Went on to further her education at Snow College and the University of Utah. Graduated Magna cum laude with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She worked in the psychiatry department, child, adolescent and adult for over 20 + years. LDS Hospital ask her to set up and run the Family Side of their in-patient drug and alcohol program, Day Spring. She continued with Day Spring for several more years, then retired from the hospital. She also founded and operated a private practice, “Ash Brook Counseling” for 35 years. Upon retirement, she moved down to the four corners area, to Bluff, UT For the next 3 years she volunteered and helped the Native Americans expand the clinic at Montezuma Creek, to have a women’s only specialized section. Louise spent her life serving, healing, teaching, helping and giving of her time to all human beings loving unconditionally. She loved to read books, history, gardening and camping in the mountains and the desert alike. Enjoyed good food, music, scotch and intelligence. She had the greatest of fine friends.
She is survived by her daughter Patti (Bruce), sons, Paul (Lynne) and John (Concha).
She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurie Ann.
A graveside service will be held in the Fayette Cemetery in Fayette, Utah on November 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
Family and friends attending are encouraged to observe social distancing guidelines and wear masks. (There will be masks at the cemetery gate)
