Leah Eades, 79, was rejoined with her Heavenly Father on February 20th, 2017, in Renton, WA, after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family.
Leah was born to the late Orvel JW Potter and Relva (Slaugh) Potter, in Manila, UT on March 1st, 1937. She grew up in Linwood, Utah with her 9 siblings, where she also worked as a switchboard operator. She was married to Deward Eades on October 22nd, 1956 in Manila, UT. Following the wedding, they moved to Deward’s home in Renton, WA, where they had three sons.
For the entirety of her life, she was very active in the LDS Church. She spent a great deal of time in her callings, her favorite of which were primary teacher and counselor in the primary presidency. She was an amazing seamstress, quilt-maker, baker, friend, wife, and mother. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family; they meant the world to her.
Leah is happy to be rejoined with her parents Orvel and Relva, brothers Orvel and Stanley and other family and friends that have passed.
Leah is survived by her husband Deward of 60 years; sons Alan, Mike, and Kevin; daughter-in-laws Kathy, Patty, and Norma; brothers Weldon and Layne; sisters Glenda, Carma, Carol, Cheryl, Gail, Shanna, and Enid; grandchildren Jessica, Kendra, Michael, Jared, Caleb, and Krista; and many more family members and loved ones.
There was a funeral service on February 23rd. There will also be a graveside service in Manila, UT where she will be buried with her parents.
A passage from Leah’s favorite hymn, I Stand All Amazed, represents her life, and this time well. “I will praise and adore at the mercy seat, until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.”
