Larry Kent Johnson was born July 17, 1925 in Robertson, Wyoming to William Wallace and Alice May Johnson. He passed away on February 15, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Larry married Alberta Anderson on September 30, 1949 in Curtice, Ohio. They moved to the Johnson Ranch in Robertson, Wyoming where they raised their family. Larry served in the army during World War II (where he received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart) and the Korean War.
Larry spent most of his life working on the family ranch. He also worked as a security guard and EMT at General Chemical (formally Allied) trona mine in southwest Wyoming. Larry was an avid story teller and never ran out of material. He loved being outside in nature hunting and fishing. Larry was a dedicated Boy Scout leader, a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, William & Alice Johnson; three brothers, Orvil, Keith, and Gail Johnson; four sisters, Lorna Hobson, Merle Elmer, Edna Wall, and Lois Johnson; and his wife Alberta Anderson Johnson. He is survived by his three children: Jane (Doug) Malone, Ellen (Wade) Bowthorpe, and David Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren (one on the way); and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View, Wyoming on February 19, 2022. Viewing starts at 1:00 pm, funeral services at 2:00 pm with graveside services to follow.
