L. Blaine Meeks

September 5, 1941 — July 17, 2023

Mountain View

L. Blaine Meeks passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family. Blaine was a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was a great example to his family while establishing a family rooted foundation. He took pride in each one of his kids and grandkids. Blaine came from a large family with 12 siblings born to Joseph and Mryna Meeks. Blaine married LaDene Powers November 17, 1962, and out of this union they had four children together, Leslee Dawn McDonald, Janelle (Kelly) Foianini, Lonnie (Shannon) Meeks, and Stacey Lyn (Keith) Pantle.

Blaine worked in many towns throughout Wyoming before returning to his home town of Mountain View with his wife LaDene. Throughout his years, he served his community in more ways than one. Coaching baseball, school board member, cemetery board president, Lions club, to name a few. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for the people of this community, they were one big family to him.

He spent 40 + years with Bridger Valley Electric. If anyone could love a job, dad was the one. He loved the company, the employees, but mostly the customers. Not only that, but he made many lifelong friends throughout his service territories of Bridger Valley, Manila, Mckinnon, Farsen, and Granger. One of his favorite jobs was to prepare the Christmas tree on the big hill to be lit on Thanksgiving night for all of Bridger Valley to enjoy for the Christmas holiday.
As Blaine drew near to death, he would often talk about his nightly visitors who came through the veil to help him prepare for the journey to come, as well as being reunited with his wife.

If you take anything from Blaine’s legacy, he would hope it would be family always comes first, work hard, and be honest in all that you do.

Blaine is preceded by death by his wife LaDene, his parents Joseph and Mryna, and 10 of his siblings.

He is survived by his four children, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Forrest Meeks.
