Ken Bruce

Ken (KB13) Dee Bruce, age 68, of Evanston, WY, died December 13, 2021 at his residence after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born June 13, 1953 in Evanston, WY to Wright “Koski” and Lenore Cornia Bruce. He married his high school sweetheart Colleen Cook, June 30th, 1972 in the Ogden LDS Temple for time and eternity. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in which he held many callings. He served for many years in the Scouting program. Ken loved the outdoors, hunting, pack trips in the mountains, ranching, and photography. In his later years he spent a lot of time fishing. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a skilled welder and worked in the oilfield for many years. He followed in the footsteps of his father and was the caretaker of the LDS Stake Welfare Ranch in his spare time.

Ken is survived by his wife Colleen of 49 years, five of his six children, Audra (Larry) Rhodes of Heber, UT, Becky (Birney) Davis of Almy, WY, son-in-law Clint Saxton of Evanston, WY, Buckley (Kristal) Bruce of Pinedale, WY, DeeAnn (Jeremy) Roloff of Minot, ND, and Cody (Chelsey) Bruce of Randolph, UT, his brother Bill (Karen) Bruce of Tooele, UT, sister Susan Brueckmann of Pablo, MT, 17 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. He is preceded in death by his daughter Koskell (Gus) Saxton, brother Alan (Joe) Bruce, and his parents Lenore and Wright “Koski” Bruce and his wife’s parents Lawrence and Selena Cook.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elm Street L.D.S. Ward Chapel on Oak & Elm Street.   Viewing will be at the church Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the funeral.  Interment will follow in the Evanston City Cemetery.
