Kathryn Ann Hill was born in Cheyenne, WY on April 18, 1953 to Alfred LaVerne Hill and Ella Joy Siedel. She passed away at the University of Utah Hospital on February 16, 2019.
Kathy was diagnosed as a child with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome and showed reliance and strength throughout her life in dealing with those challenges. Kathy lived at the Wyoming State Training School from 1961-1988. She spoke positively about the time she spent there and the relationships she formed in growing up in Lander. Kathy moved to Cheyenne in 1988 to be part of the programming at Magic City Enterprises. She moved to a group home with Mountain Regional Services, Inc. in 1998, where she resided until her passing.
As a resident of Mountain Regional Service, Inc. for over 20 years, Kathy had the opportunity to touch many lives. She was very sweet and kind and quickly formed bonds with her peers and staff members. She enjoyed going on outings, bingo, arts and crafts and watching movies. She especially loved going on trip to Utah and going to parades. She liked to dress up and have her hair braided. She loved to socialize with others and share with them all of her prized possessions.
Kathy made countless friends through her time and association with Mountain Regional Services, Inc. Special thanks is given to the many medical professionals who helped care for Kathy in the past few months and to her caring case manager, staff and peers who showed her unwavering dedication, kindness and compassion.
A celebration of Kathy's life was held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Evanston Episcopal Church in Evanston, WY.
